Old Solar Energy Idea Re-Packaged in a new and I think EXCITING Way!

I'm not sure if I posted about this company before, but I do think this is a very good idea.....an old technology re-packaged in a new way.

The technology is Solar Energy.....but utilizing net-metering. That is, there are no storage batteries. During the day, your solar array supplies power out to the power grid...and your power meter spins backwards.....essentially paying you for the power.

At night when the sun is not out and your system is not creating energy, your house gets it's power from the electric company...essentially buying back the power you "sold" to the grid during the day.

If the system is balanced properly, you will be using the same amount of energy you sold the system in the morning.

I love the fact that there are no batteries.....batteries are expensive, big and bulky, and just more heavy metal to recycle or otherwise take care of when they wear out.

The company that does this is Citizenre and I know they exist in NH. Check out their website for more info.

Thank-you for helping to get the word out about Citizenre. I am one of about 1500 independent Ecopreneurs for Citizenre. One item of note is that product does not current exist. They are in the process of building one of the worlds largest photovoltaic production facilities. Once complete, they will be able to provide solar for about 50,000 homes per year. Currently they are takiing reservations and have nearly 26,000 people waiting for a system. The company states that product will be available in the middle of 2008. I have a lot more information available at my blog - www.solarjoules.com. These are exciting times. perhaps we can finally make a diierence with renewable energy!
